Two of the four natives of India accused in a scheme to fraudulently obtain U non-immigrant visas by staging fake robberies have pleaded guilty. Rohitkumar Patel, 29, of Newark, New Jersey, and Jeel Patel, 22, of Baltimore, entered their pleas Wednesday in U.S. Middle District Court to a charge of conspiracy to commit fraud and make false statements about visa and healthcare matters.

The Philly’s ex-treasurer pleaded guilty to a scheme to garner citizenship by submitting false documentation and statements and failing to pay his taxes. Dunbar will also have to pay a $10,000 fine as well as $33,202 in restitution to the IRS.

As reported by Penn Live, a local man was indicted for running a two year fraud scheme where he and two others used staged robberies to claim they were victims for qualifying crimes for U visas.
